The SB165 pairs a 165mm rear travel coil shock, 170mm fork, and a mullet wheel setup (29" up front and 27.5" in the back). Yeti tuned the suspension kinematics specifically around a coil shock for incredible small bump sensitivity and BIG hit capability. All of this combined with Yeti's legendary Switch Infinity pivot system and you have a tool that'll never leave you feeling under-biked.
What is the difference between the Yeti SB160 and SB165?
Beyond the extra 5mm of rear travel, the Yeti SB165 is designed around a mixed-wheel mullet setup opposed to 29er wheels front and back on the SB160. The smaller 27.5" rear wheel on the SB165 delivers a little extra "flick-ability" for gnarlier trails whereas the full 29" setup on the SB160 prioritized a little more speed. The SB165 is also designed to be ridden with a coil shock. Geometry is slightly different between the two bikes with the SB165 having a slightly shorter reach, taller stack, slacker head tube angle, lower bottom bracket, and shorter chainstays - all prioritizing incredible downhill performance vs. the dose of pedaling efficiency on the SB160 that makes the bike a great tool for Enduro racing.
In short:
SB165 prioritizes downhill performance
SB160 balances downhill confidence with pedaling efficiency for those looking to dominate the Enduro racing scene
How much does an SB165 weigh?
With a medium TURQ frame and rear coil shock coming in around 8.31lbs you can expect a full build to range between 34-35lbs depending on build kit.

Our Take:
The SB165 is a top contender in the single-stanchion downhill category. It's unapologetic in its preference for downhills and while it climbs quite well considering its specs and configuration if you're racing enduro's or spending a considerable amount of time climbing during your ride we might encourage you to also consider the Yeti SB160 for it's 29er wheels, slight weight decrease, and geometry.
