Traditionally, mountain cleats have only had two material options. Mild steel and brass. This has largely been to ensure that the cleat wore out faster than the pedal interface, but has left us with cleats that are often times very fast wearing, and in all cases, are quite heavy.
Enter 6/4 Titanium, only slightly less hard than tool or spring steel used in the pedals, it's a remarkable 2.25 times stronger and 3 times tougher than brass or mild steel. Best of all, the extreme toughness and abrasion resistance of 6Al/4V titanium means that you can expect 300-400% wear life compared to traditional materials.
Now we couldn't just stop there, but by combining 3D printing technology with this material that is 1/3 lighter than steel, we are able to achieve a cleat with internal lattice structure (called a gyroid) which maintains stiffness and strength while reducing weight to create a cleat set that is HALF the weight of a standard cleat set.
This savings of 25-30 grams per set of cleats is significant over time, particularly in CX events where running is crucial. 25gm reduction x 100 rpm = 180kg of mass not lifted per hour of riding, 90kg per leg!
NOTE: Packaging indicates 6Nm max torque, but further testing has shown that torque up to 10Nm is acceptable and may be necessary on very hard carbon fiber soles. Please grease threads and under the screw head at assembly to ensure consistent screw tension for a given torque. Also, with harder soles, we recommend re-tightening the cleats after 24 hours or your first ride as screw tension may be reduced by the cleat pins impinging into the shoe sole.

Condition Rating Guide
Our experts inspect each bike and rate its components on a scale of 1-10. The condition chart’s Overall Rating is the average of those individual components, helping you tell how much overall wear a bike has. We don’t sell anything that scores below a 7. Along with the condition chart, look closely at the bike’s detail images, which highlight any wear or damage.

10/10 Like-New:
These bicycles are good as new, often built right out of the box from the manufacturer. Original stickers, parts, and accessories are included. The frame and wheels might have minor blemishes or scuffs from transportation or showroom display. Drivetrain, levers, cockpit, and suspension (where applicable) are in new condition.

9/10 Excellent
While these bikes have been ridden, they remain in excellent condition. Frame and wheels show slight signs of wear with only minor scuffs and scratches — no paint chipping. The drivetrain shows light wear but the derailleurs, shifters, and levers have not sustained any damage. The cockpit has light wear, primarily on the grips or handlebar tape. Bikes with suspension components have minor scuffs and scratches on the fork legs and shock, and the stanchions are immaculate.

8/10 Very good
To earn a rating in this range, bicycles have sustained some wear but no significant damage. The frame will have slight paint loss, scratches, and/or scuffs. Wheels will also have minor cosmetic damage on rims, spokes, and/or hubs. The drivetrain will have wear from normal usage and there will be slight scratches and scuffs on derailleurs, shifters, and levers. Cockpit, saddle, and suspension lowers (where applicable) will also have cosmetic scuffs and scratches.

7/10 Good
Bikes in this range are well-loved and have moderate wear. While the frame and wheels will have cosmetic scuffs, scratches, and/or paint loss, they will not be structurally damaged. Aluminum, steel, and titanium frames may have minor dents. Carbon frames may have been previously damaged, but have been professionally repaired and are structurally sound. Aluminum rims may have minor dents. The drivetrain has moderate to heavy wear. Handlebars, stem, derailleurs, and levers show moderate scuffing or scratches, and the saddle might have slight tears. If the bike has suspension, those components will have scratches and scuffs. The stanchions may have small scratches.

6-1/10 Average
We do not sell bikes that we rate lower than 6 on the condition scale. For example, this includes bikes with major dents, carbon fiber damage, excessive drivetrain wear, and/or moderate to significant suspension component wear.
