Founded by John Parker in 1985, Yeti built its reputation around mountain bike racing. That history spans several generations worth considering, not just the latest model. A used Yeti SB140, SB160, ASR, or ARC can be a very different bike depending on its year and build, so start with the actual listing rather than the name alone.

Which Yeti Mountain Bike Is Right for You?
Use this guide to narrow your search by riding style. It includes recent and earlier-generation models relevant to used-bike shopping; it is not a list of guaranteed stock. Travel below refers to nominal rear suspension travel, not fork travel.
On smaller screens, scroll the table sideways. Always check each bike’s model year, wheel configuration, fork, shock, and actual build.
| Model | Riding Focus | Rear Travel | Generation and Build Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yeti ASR | Cross-country racing and fast trail miles | 115mm on the modern platform | Older ASR generations differ. The modern ASR uses flex-stay suspension. |
| Yeti ARC | Hardtail trail riding and riders who prefer a simpler setup | Hardtail | Modern ARC bikes are carbon 29ers. Earlier ARC generations used different materials and designs. |
| Yeti SB120 | Short-travel trail riding with an emphasis on pedaling | 120mm | A 29er with Switch Infinity. Check the fork and whether the listing is a Lunch Ride build. |
| Yeti SB130 | All-around trail riding | 130mm | An earlier-generation 29er. Standard and Lunch Ride builds can have different suspension specifications. |
| Yeti SB135 | Playful trail riding on smaller wheels | 135mm | 27.5-inch wheels distinguish it from the newer 29-inch SB140. |
| Yeti SB140 | Everyday trail riding and technical descents | 140mm | Offered as a 27.5-inch platform in earlier years and a 29er in the newer generation. Verify the listing. |
| Yeti SB150 | Enduro riding and bigger mountain days | 150mm | An earlier-generation 29er that remains relevant when comparing used enduro bikes. |
| Yeti SB160 | Enduro racing and demanding descents | 160mm | A 29-inch Switch Infinity platform. Do not confuse it with the newer Sixfinity LT. |
| Yeti SB165 | Steep trails, bike-park riding, and descending-focused builds | 165mm | Earlier bikes used 27.5-inch wheels front and rear. The newer generation uses a 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear. |
Earlier models such as the SB100, SB115, and SB5 also belong in the conversation. Compare geometry, condition, suspension, wheels, and replacement-part compatibility rather than model year alone. A well-matched older build may make more sense for your riding and budget than a recent-generation used bike in the wrong size or category.

Understanding Yeti MT, LT & ASR Lunch Ride Models
Yeti’s range goes beyond the familiar SB names. These recent platforms are useful reference points when comparing different generations of used Yeti bikes. Their inclusion here does not mean every model or build is currently available at TPC.
Yeti MT
The MT pairs 140mm of rear travel with a 160mm fork and 29-inch wheels. Unlike the SB140, it uses Yeti’s Sixfinity suspension layout and includes in-frame storage. It is a separate trail-bike platform, not simply a renamed SB140.
Yeti LT
The LT is Yeti’s long-travel pedal bike with 160mm of rear travel and a 170mm fork. It uses Sixfinity rather than the SB160’s Switch Infinity system and offers full-29-inch and mixed-wheel configurations. Compare the actual wheel setup, geometry, and components when shopping LT and SB160 listings.
Yeti ASR Lunch Ride
The ASR Lunch Ride, or ASR LR, keeps the modern ASR’s 115mm flex-stay rear suspension and adds a 130mm fork for a more descending-focused build. Lunch Ride is a build designation, not a promise that every Yeti LR has the same fork or extra rear travel.
For the full naming breakdown, read Yeti Bike Names Explained, including MT, LT, SB, and Lunch Ride models.
Used Yeti Electric Mountain Bikes
Shopping for a used Yeti e-MTB? The 160E is the earlier 160mm-travel electric platform. The MTe offers 145mm of rear travel with a TQ HPR60 drive system, while the LTe pairs 160mm of rear travel with a Bosch Performance Line CX or CX-R system, depending on the build. These are different bikes, not interchangeable names for the same motor and frame.
Check the specific listing for battery capacity, charger inclusion, wheel configuration, component condition, and any available battery or service information. Match the bike to the range and riding you need rather than choosing on travel alone.
TURQ vs. C/Series, Switch Infinity & Build Kits
TURQ and C/Series describe carbon-frame construction, not paint color. Where a model offers both, TURQ is the lighter frame option. Yeti describes its C/Series layup as retaining the strength and stiffness of the higher-tier frame at a lower price and higher weight. The weight difference is model-specific.
Suspension design also depends on the platform. Many SB bikes use Switch Infinity; MT, LT, and Yeti’s modern electric platforms use Sixfinity; the modern ASR uses flex-stay suspension; and the ARC is a hardtail. Do not assume every Yeti uses the same linkage or service procedure.
Build-kit labels are only a starting point. A used bike may have upgraded or replacement wheels, drivetrain parts, brakes, or suspension. Not every Yeti comes with FOX Factory components. Compare the actual parts and condition in the listing before paying more for a particular frame or build label.
Used Yeti Bike Prices & Demo Bikes
For a useful used Yeti bike price comparison, line up bikes of similar size, generation, condition, and build quality. A higher-spec used bike may offer components you would otherwise upgrade, while a recent-generation pre-owned bike may offer different geometry, storage, or suspension features. Compare the total package rather than a discount percentage alone.
Looking for Yeti demo bikes for sale? Demo describes a bike’s previous use, not its condition grade or warranty coverage. When a listing identifies demo history, review its photos, condition notes, and included equipment just as carefully as any other pre-owned bike. Ask a Ride Guide to confirm any demo-specific warranty eligibility before purchasing.
Why Buy a Used Yeti from TPC?
TPC’s Certified Pre-Owned bikes are professionally inspected, serviced, cleaned, tuned, and tested. Detailed listings help you compare the actual bike, not just a stock build from an old catalog. Our Ride Guides can help you work through sizing, intended use, and component questions.
Eligible purchases are backed by TPC’s 30-day return policy. Return conditions and shipping charges apply; items marked Final Sale are excluded. This return policy is separate from any manufacturer warranty.
Used Yeti Bike FAQ
Should I buy a Yeti SB140 or SB160?
Start with the trails you ride most. The SB140 is the more trail-oriented option, with 140mm of rear travel. The 160mm SB160 is aimed at enduro riding and more demanding descents. Compare size, geometry, wheel size, and actual components as well as travel, especially because older SB140 bikes can have 27.5-inch wheels rather than the newer platform’s 29-inch wheels.
What size Yeti mountain bike do I need?
Start with Yeti’s size guidance for the exact model and year, then compare reach, stack, standover, seat-tube length, and dropper-post fit with a bike that fits you well. A Medium in one Yeti generation does not necessarily fit or handle like a Medium in another. Ask a Ride Guide when you are between sizes or comparing different platforms.
Does a used Yeti come with a lifetime frame warranty?
Do not assume the original manufacturer warranty transfers. Yeti’s published lifetime frame warranty covers eligible 2019-and-newer frames for the original purchaser from an authorized Yeti dealer, subject to its terms. Yeti also states that a second owner can register a bike, but registration does not create warranty coverage. Check the individual listing and confirm any coverage with TPC before buying a used or demo bike. See Yeti’s warranty terms and its registration guidance.
Can I buy a Yeti frame instead of a complete bike?
Browse Yeti frames and framesets for a frame-up build or replacement project. Check the included shock and hardware, wheel size, fork requirements, bottom bracket, seatpost fit, and drivetrain compatibility before moving parts from another bike.
