A day quickly can turn into a week, which turns into a month; a year comes and goes and then before we know it, we are turning the page on a new decade. I can’t begin to dream of where The Pro’s Closet will go next without being grateful for where we have been, thanks to our employees and especially our customers.

As we prepare to embark on this shiny new decade, I feel overwhelming gratitude to you, our customers. Without you, TPC would just be an idea.

My idea began inside of a 1962 Split Window Volkswagen Samba van, 14 years ago. TPC was born out of a passion for cycling and a passion for extending the lives of the things around us. The key to this idea is that you can do more with less and still expect quality bikes and industry-leading customer service.

Over the first 10 years of TPC, we built eBay’s largest pre-owned cycling store, but we didn’t control the customer experience. In fact, we technically didn’t have a single customer. How is that possible? Our customers were essentially eBay’s customers. We were confined by eBay’s policies. As passionate cyclists serving other passionate cyclists, we knew we could serve our customers better.

Just 18 months ago, we took our world into our own hands by building our own website. Today, more than 80% of orders come through TheProsCloset.com. We can finally be in control of our customer’s experience. Now, we are driving our day to day decisions by what is best for our customers. This translates into a bigger selection, easier shopping, and expert advice from our Ride Guides.

And we are just getting started! Here are some stats from 2019 that highlight how big we have grown over the last decade:

Our dream is to be the largest and most trusted destination for bikes. At TPC, you aren’t limited to just one brand. In fact, last year we sold more than 150 different brands of bikes. You don’t have to be limited to just one category either, we are experts in e-bikes, mountain, road, gravel, tri … You name it, we have it.

And when it comes time to sell your old bike, we're on a mission to make the process easier. Say goodbye to the days of meeting someone in the back of a dark parking lot. We have built the most trusted destination for you to seamlessly sell your bike and buy something different.

As we embark on this next decade, we will continue to build a great business on a solid foundation of trust with you, our customer. I realize that this doesn’t happen overnight. We are committed to listening to you so we can continuously improve, one day, one bike, one customer at a time.

Today is an adventure, let’s not wait for tomorrow.

Best of Rides,

Nick
