Why We Love It
With it becoming more and more common for bike manufacturers to design their gravel bikes to be able to accept both 700c and 650b wheels, the prospect of rigging your adventure bike up with a pair of 650b wheels and super chunky tires is way more practical. You’ll be able to have a pair of tamer tires on your 700c wheels but then swap them out for some ENVE G27 Carbon Tubeless 650b wheels for those big, off road adventures, or winter snow riding. And don’t think these are just the G23s in miniature. ENVE has redesigned them to be used with higher volume tires with an internal rim width of 27mm and an external of 35.5mm. That means that these rims can run road plus tires from 42 to 60mm wide and even mountain treads from 1.9 inches to 2.25 inches. As tubeless ready tires, the G27 have a molded bead lock to provide a perfect seal between tire and rim, which means you can run them at very low pressure. And the wide hookless bead will prevent pinched flats from ruining your ride.
