About The Colorado High School Mountain Bike League

The Colorado High School Mountain Bike League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit empowering youth through interscholastic mountain bike racing and they've been after it since 2009. When they originally kicked off, the program featured 202 student-athletes representing 19 teams. Over the years, the program has grown and now represents over 160 high schools, four separate regions with riders from neighboring states, coach development programs, and a full season of racing with a State Championship to cap it off.

The Colorado League understands that access to mountain biking for youth riders can be challenging, it's no secret that the barrier of entry for cycling is on the higher side. For years, they've provided scholarship programs for individuals, teams, and even coaches wanting to be involved in building a welcoming and supportive community for youth mountain biking.

The Perfect Match

Here at The Pro's Closet, we share that same passion for lowering the barrier to the sport and creating a welcoming, encouraging cycling community. In 2026, our biggest goal was getting involved with the local community through supporting racing and events in the Front Range of Colorado. The Colorado League felt like the perfect partnership. Our conversation began like most event sponsorship conversations, however quickly evolved into how we could do MORE.

We Had an Idea...💡

With our Sell/Trade business model, we felt there was a unique opportunity to provide "loaner bikes" for the season. We pitched the idea and wadya know... The Colorado League had been dreaming of a way to make this possible for years, but didn't have answers for all the necessary pieces, until now. Excitement in the room was palpable and the light bulbs were glowing bright! A strong relationship with Yeti was mentioned and in no time at all, a beautiful partnership between The Pro's Closet, Yeti, and The Colorado League forged to create The Colorado League Bike Library.

In 2026, the program focuses on providing fifteen Yeti ARC hardtail mountain bikes on loan for the Fall season by team nominated student-athletes. Eight of those fifteen Yeti ARC's will be handed off at our (The Pro's Closet) warehouse in Thornton, CO on June 27th, while the remainder will be given just before the 2026 season kicks off.

In addition to a sweet Yeti ARC carbon hardtail, these student-athletes will also receive a new helmet from 6D helmets, a pair of gloves, sunnies from Optic Nerve, a name sticker, and some additional swag from us as well as Yeti.

What happens to the loaner bikes at the end of the season?

When the 2026 season wraps up, the Yeti ARC's will return to The Pro's Closet. First, they'll go through our Certified Pre-Owned Process where any necessary wear items are replaced and the bikes are given a full wash and tuneup. Then, the bikes will be listed and sold at tpc.bike with all proceeds of each bike sale going back to the Colorado Mountain Bike League to further support youth mountain biking.  Keep an eye on our website at the end of 2026 if you're in the market for a great carbon hardtail. You'll get a great price AND you'll be supporting a great cause.

What's Next?

We're proud of what's been accomplished in such a short amount of time by simply bringing together a few passionate brands (The Pro's Closet, Yeti, & The Colorado Mountain Bike League) and the additional kindness and support from brands like 6D Helmets and Optic Nerve.

We hope that this is just the beginning.

In the coming years, we aim to expand this program to offer more youth riders the opportunity to enjoy the sport of mountain biking.
