Introducing: The Myles
For the rider's who call their bikes "Steeds".
Finally, a cycling shoe for you.
Developing the bike industries first ever clipless cowboy//cowgirl boot wasn't easy. Creating something entirely new never is. But, where would we be if the creators of the slinky gave up when the going got tough? And giving up isn't very on brand with the Western spirit.

Key Features:
Stiffness:
The natural stiffness from the sole of the boot was an immediately felt performance advantage. We decided to do nothing with this. The rigidity of the natural wood sole delivered a power transfer we haven't felt from any other shoe brand. Every hard earned watt you've trained for is transferred efficiently in powering your steed forward.
Horsepower!
Durability:
Far surpassing any materials currently used for cycling footwear, we discovered that genuine Python leather holds up to the incredible abuse that road, gravel, and mountain bikers subject their shoes to. Good luck wearing these out. Rocks, road rash, inclement weather, trudging through mud - we thoroughly tested these boots for thousands of Myles of the harshest conditions and they didn't show a scratch.

Challenges:
We quickly discovered unclipping without a rigid heel cup was extremely challenging, but we knew it'd be worth it in the end. We solved this issue by reenforcing the heel cup and first three inches of the boot cuff with kevlar. This solution delivered the easy clip in/clip out we were after, without sacrificing comfort, regardless of which saddle you're throwing a leg over.

Did we initially have ethical dilemma's with the use of Python leather? Absolutely. When researching and collaborating with some of the best Western boot manufacturers in the world, this material was continuously pushed as one we should consider. We hesitated and resisted for awhile, but were ensured that they would only be sourced from an area in Mexico where these Python's are running rampant and taking over communities. Due to this critical sourcing criteria, these boots will only be available in extremely limited quantities.

Future Models:
There are several Western boot features we haven't yet perfected, but are close. For our second version, keep an eye out for enhancements like retractable toe spur integration for cyclocross racing.
We're also close to perfecting a reflective python leather for ultimate visibility from vehicles whether you're galloping or on the gravel bike.

Happy April 1st
