We chat with Janel Spilker who raced professionally from 2008-2015 on the road. She claimed the 2011 NRC title, won the Cascade Classic and Joe Martin Stage Race, and raced around the world on the Champs Elysees, in the Giro Rosa, and in the world championships team time trial.

After retiring, Janel kept her wheels firmly planted in cycling and started her business, Janel Cycling, which focuses on cycling camps and coaching athletes of all levels. Janel took retirement from the road as an opportunity to spend more time having fun off-road and scooped up third place at Unbound Gravel and won Crusher in the Tushar. Working closely with Liv and Giant, as well as organizations such as the Michael P. Nosco Foundation and COTA, Janel hopes to help more people fall in love with bikes. Janel's recent relocation to Bend, Oregon means more time on gravel and dirt.
