Cafe Ride: Erin Nelson on coming back from being hit by a car

By Reese Ruland

Published

Originally from the midwest and now living in Salt Lake City, Utah with her big-eared pup, Finn, Erin Nelson has been riding bikes for as long as she can remember.

A year and a half ago she was hit by a car while riding, which changed the course of her relationship with cycling and presented a whole slew of mental and physical challenges to sort through. In the time since, she's worked to rebuild her relationship with bikes while navigating injury, surgery, PT, and physical and mental recovery.

The Café Ride is an Instagram Live conversation series dedicated to telling the stories of amazing women, building community, and educating and inspiring fellow cyclists. This conversation series features women from various aspects of the cycling community. You’ll meet and hear stories from women who are recreational athletes, product developers, nutrition experts, or professional cyclists. The goal is to inspire, educate, and connect women from all over the world.
