Why We Love It
Just a short drive over the mountains from us is a relatively young, but thrilling bike brand called Revel Bikes. Revel got their start in 2016 and quickly became known for their high quality, carbon, full-suspension rigs ready to take on all types of trails and with their backyard being the Roaring Fork Valley, there was no shortage of testing and R&D on some of Colorado's best trails. The Revel Ranger is for the folks who like to pedal fast. This bike falls somewhere in that slightly blurry category of "downcountry" or "modern XC" or whatever you want to call it. Ultimately, it's super fast, but still has plenty of suspension that if you're so inclined you won't be held back on the technical declines. 115mm of rear travel built around an intended 120mm front suspension doesn't add too much weight and keeps the rider in a powerful position, but can tackle quite a bit of challenging terrain. Revel's CBF (Canfield Balance Formula) suspension platform keeps pesky pedal-bob under control to put your watts where you want 'em.
