Wilier Triestina actually has an acronym for its name; Wilier stands for W Italia Libera E Redenta, or Hooray For A Free and Redeemed Italy. The Italian company was early on oversized bottom brackets, steerer tubes, and seatposts. They also were some of the first to hide brake/shifter cables and integrate their seatposts, stems, and bars into the frame. For years, their calling card was the copper-over-chrome Superleggera frameset. Models (2023) Discipline

With carbon fiber now the material of choice, they’ve gone heavy into sculpting tubes to maximize stiffness and improve aerodynamics. Racing matters to Wilier; they have a long racing heritage with Astana on their bikes today. Before Astana, there was Total Energies, Lampre, and countless others. The Filante SLR is the latest pro bike, and the 0 SLR is their climbing bike. Wilier has a solid endurance platform with the GTR, which grew from the Gran Turismo. The RAVE SLR is their quiver-killer bike, fast for roads, and features enough tire clearance for gravel.
