Our Take:
The Canyon Exceed, like many Canyons, is one of the best "bang for your buck" bikes on the market. You'd be hard-pressed finding a better quality hardtail mountain bike at this weight under $2500. If you're looking for higher spec builds, the cost of the Exceed leaves lots of room in the budget to upgrade to the parts you want or you can set up a "Saved Search" and TPC will let you know when Exceed models come in with higher spec builds. In short, if you're looking for a cross-country racing hardtail or a lighter bike for rugged adventuring, the Canyon Exceed is an excellent choice.
