You don’t need wall power or a smartphone app to get the most out of your Garmin Tacx Boost trainer. Just secure your bike in the stand with the quick-release skewer and adjust the resistance using the handlebar lever. It offers 10 positions with the level of resistance increasing the higher you get. The resistance unit itself is sealed to keep it as quiet as possible, which will make any flat mates or downstairs neighbors much happier. By using magnets and a 3.5-pound flywheel, the Boost Trainer offers a realistic road feel and can accommodate up to 1050 watts. The trainer has a small footprint, though that does not compromise how secure you’ll feel as you are putting the power down. It also folds down nice and flat so that it is easily stored between use.
