Why We Love It
C24 wheels use a carbon/aluminum hybrid rim where the carbon is actually structural rather than a fairing as used by some wheel manufacturers. The standard aluminum braking surface leads into a half millimeter thick alloy rim, which is then reinforced with a carbon fiber layer on the exterior. Like carbon cranks that use an alloy skeleton, this hybrid leads to a light yet incredibly stiff wheel. The 9000 rim has also been updated with a wider profile, resulting in an improved tire contact patch and more aerodynamic performance. The low profile 24mm depth means they spin up fast, won't slow you down on the climbs or handle poorly in cross winds.
