Why We Love It
To get the best of Reynolds performance at an affordable price point, you can look at the Strike SLG Wheelset to cover your aero road and tri needs. Reynolds gave these wheels a bit of a makeover, so that you will find the Strike SLG deep dish slightly less deep than in previous years. Now with a 62 mm rim depth, you will get all the aero advantages without having to worry about instability in cross winds. One design feature that is essential for this wheel’s performance is the Swirl Lip Generator (SLG). It is a 0.9mm lip that is placed on the sidewall of the rim near to the spoke face. It effectively minimizes the pressure drag that the wheels suffer. The turbulent air is aided in passing over the wheel and reattaching at the spoke face. By creating a small layer of turbulent air flowing over the smooth air at the rim, the wheels will be much more efficient about cutting through the wind. Not only will this effect make you less visible to the wind, but it improves the bike’s stability in cross winds.
