The Mullet Meta

Why We Love It
Commencal has been lighting up the enduro and downhill world with their Meta lineup for years and the new Meta SX continues this trend. This new model is on the bigger travel side of the Meta range, boasting 160mm of frame travel (same as the AM), but has some fun new surprises! For the mullet fans out there, this bike is set up with a 29er up front and a 27.5" wheel in the back. The smaller rear wheel helps shorten the chainstays and an added seat stay brace make the back of this bike feel insanely stable and confident. The folks at Commencal are wicked smart and understand that tossing a 27.5" wheel on the back of a bike will change the ride significantly, so instead of just making the prior AM a mullet build, this frame has been reworked to keep the desired ride they were after. In addition to the shorter chainstays we mentioned, the reach is also 10mm shorter and the steerer angle was straightened. All combine to create a bike with exceptional traction and control from the back and high rolling capacity up front.
