Soft Tail Super Hero

Why We Love It
The Moots Mountaineer continues the heritage of one of Moots original models in the early 80's. At first glance, this "soft tail" delivers a classic, timeless design. However, as you inspect closer, you notice the crafty YBB "micro-suspension" that gives this bike it's "soft-tail" description. YBB is a small amount of travel built into the seat stay directly behind the rider. This feature allows the bike to maintain the excellent efficiency, lower weight and lower maintenance you love out of a hardtail, but softens the back of the back where the riders weight is distributed most as well as keeps the rear wheel in contact with the ground more often (which equals more efficient pedaling). Pair this technology with Moots oversized 3/2.5 titanium tubeset and you have one of the most supple, durable, and responsive hardtails available. And, of course, the titanium frame is handmade in Steamboat, CO.
Master Mechanic’s Notes

  • Light scratches on the crank arms
  • Light scratches on the rims, drive side fork leg, head tube, top tube, down tube, drive side seatstay, & non-drive side chainstay
