Just Like a Mad Libs

Why We Love It
Ibis often likes to do things their own way. Occasionally their bikes may sound a little different on paper, maybe it even looks a little different at first, but as soon as you throw a leg over, it somehow feels intuitive and right at home, however you build it. The Ibis DV9 is one of those bikes. It's a hardtail that doesn't exactly fall into the pure cross country racing breed, but also doesn't go as extreme as the "party hardy hardtail" category. But again, throw a leg over it and you'll be shocked at how quick it pedals, how nimble it handles, and how comfortable it rides. With clearance of up to 2.6" tires you can easily give this ride mega-traction. Then, pick your poison with a frame designed around either 100 or 120mm travel fork for lightweight speed or a little more rowdiness. Next, the DV9 has a shorter seat tube to allow big travel dropper posts allowing the saddle to get way out of the way if you take your DV9 down steep terrain. Ibis won't force your hand, spec this bike to be a race-capable hardtail or make a little rowdier - its up to you! The cherry on top? A beautiful threaded bottom bracket, so no matter how much torque you deliver to your pedals, your bottom bracket will stay creak free.
Master Mechanic’s Notes
  • New handlebar grips & bottom bracket bearings
  • Light scratches on the handlebar & rear derailleur
  • Light scratches on the drive side fork lower, seatstays, & chainstays
  • Moderate scratches on the crank arms
