Why We Love It
Though gravel is a fairly new category for bikes, the industry has managed to divide it into multiple subcategories depending on your particular style of gravel riding: more road oriented, more mountain bike oriented or something in between. That in between, not too hot, not too cold, just right subsection is where the ENVE AG25 Disc Carbon Tubeless wheelset for 700c setups will excel. You can get a little idea that that’s the idea from the naming device since they take a leaf from the more road-oriented AR series and as well as the G series which concentrate more on the rough stuff. With an inner rim width of 25mm and an outer width of 33.5mm, not only you can really get some high volume tires on these rims, but the wide internal width in particular will allow high volume tubeless tires to spread out a little more, letting you run lower pressures as your terrain gets rougher. Considering you will likely choose to go 1x for a gravel bike that would love these wheels, then the SRAM XDR freehub that has been fitted will allow for greater possibilities with your gearing choices. Designed specifically for an 11 or 12-speed rear wheel, the XDR driver makes it a lot easier to work with cassettes that have a 10-tooth cog which will expand your cassette range. And the XDR driver body interface provides a more stable hub connection which translates to better axle and bearing durability.
