Why We Love It
The Colnago V1-R is a lightweight racer with a dash of comfort and a sprinkle of subtle aero touches. First and foremost, you'll be blown away with the featherlight frame regardless of the build specs, this will be one of the lightest bikes on the road. But, because lightweight doesn't mean much if the bike isn't sustainable to ride, Colnago made sure to design the carbon tube shapes to damp harsh road chatter. There aren't any fancy tricks or tech to talk about that provide this smooth road feel and that's the beauty of this bike, it just comes down to smart carbon engineering. As for the sprinkle of aero touches, this is again a reflection of Colnago's years of expertise designing top shelf road bikes. Colnago preserved the timeless classic lines that will look good for years to come, but formed extremely subtle kammtail tube shapes that help cheat the wind, but appear round at first glance. They also designed their own brake calipers with discrete adjustments and tucked the rear brake down by the bottom bracket. Our last touch we'll point out is the always eye-catching yellow emblem on the top tube featuring Ferrari's stallion logo, reflecting their long running relationship with the supercar brand.
