The Argon 18 Dark Matter is designed with a heavy dose of road performance carefully merged with gravel-tuned geometry, wider tire clearance, and compliance. To accomplish the needed vertical compliance that gravel demands, Argon 18 developed their "Topological Compliance System". Much of this system is achieved by intentionally designed flex in the seatstays, which consequently allows the seat tube to flex below the rider providing vertical compliance without sacrificing lateral stiffness.
