Why We Love It
The Esker Japhy is a 29er steel hardtail that borrows a bit of personality from its cousin, the Hayduke. Japhy is still down to get rowdy on technical descents, sporting a slack 66 degree head tube angle, but being designed around a 120mm fork and 29er wheels it likes to pedal fast, too. It still has Esker's "Portage" rear dropout system, which puts you in control of drivetrain types, hub widths or even chain stay lengths. With 29er clearance of up to 2.8", you're able to spec this bike with all the knobby grippy-ness you desire. The Esker Japhy is high on our list of versatile fun-loving hardtails and we think it will be high on yours, too.
