Why We Love It
The Eddy Merckx Mourenx 69 name is inspired by Stage 17 of the 1969 Tour De France where Eddy executed a solo 214k attack to win the stage. This bike is designed to embrace the endurance required for such long efforts. As such, the geometry lends itself to a slightly more upright posture than racier models in the Eddy Merckx lineup such as the SanRemo. To enhance the smooth ride, the team at Eddy Merckx designed the seat and chainstays to increase vertical compliance. Few racers have the first hand pedigree smashing the cobbles as Eddy Merckx and you can feel the experience and expertise carried over into this design.
