Diamondback still packs a bite after almost 50 years. They started out with BMX bikes, expanding their offerings to MTBs early on. Diamondback rose to the scene at the inaugural Olympic mountain bike race in 1996, when Susan DeMattei piloted her Diamondback to a bronze medal in the cross-country event. While their bikes aren’t seen on the steps of international podiums lately, the brand has been expanding and improving its offerings. 2023 Models Frame Travel (mm)

Their full-suspension bikes come with their Level Link rear suspension design, made to pedal well and perform on the roughest trails. It utilizes two links that can isolate the drivetrain from the suspension, thus making it fully active and efficient. Diamondback mainly focuses on trail bikes, aiming to make their 130mm travel whips descend like bikes with more travel while still being zippy climbers. They build in carbon fiber and aluminum, with the carbon models tilting towards elite performance and the aluminum offerings offering great bang for the buck.
