Why We Love It
Maybe you're familiar with Intense Cycles, maybe you're not. But for the latter, we recommend putting them on your radar for your next new bike. They certainly aren't new, they've been around since the early 90's. And they certainly aren't pumping out large quantities of cookie cutter molds to please the masses. Intense Cycles is led by a passionate frame builder, Jeff Steber, who has been building frames for decades and is known for building the very first full suspension downhill specific bike.

While the brand is known for incredibly impressive downhill bikes, the Spider is proof that they're no stranger to building a bike that can blaze along fast pedal-heavy terrain, climb like a mountain goat then rip the descent with sure-footed confidence and style. The 27.5" wheels play a role in the nimble handling of the Spider, but don't be scared away, 29er fans, these wheels still feel plenty fast thanks to the featherlight frame and progressive geometry. If you're a die-hard XC-racer or full-fledged downhill junkie the Spider may miss the mark for you. However, for most other riders looking for an impressive bike that talks the talk of "all-trail" capability, we encourage you to put the Intense Cycles Spider on your list.
